See You In The Springtime

Update @ 22/09 – We are now permitted to perform urgent bicycle repairs for customers within a 5km radius of the workshop. This is a ‘By Appointment‘ contactless drop off and collection service to minimise face-to-face interaction.    Sadly we are not able to offer the on-the-spot, in person check-ins that we pride ourselves on – all chats and payment will need to be made by phone or online.    Please note, we are UNABLE to accept bicycles for repair without a booking.

Our online booking calendar is not available at this time, so please use this form to submit a booking request and we will follow up as quickly as possible.

Update @ 08/09 – Introducing New Bike Day at Your House. We’re now offering free bike delivery on new bike sales within a 15km radius of the workshop. Read more here.

With Melbourne slowly adjusting to Stage Four Covid19 restrictions, here’s the low-down on how we’ll be operating at Commuter until September 13th.

Firstly, all remote business will continue more or less as normal. Whether you are based in Melbourne or interstate, members of our team will be available to answer your inquiries via email or on the phone. We’ll be just as able to get the ball rolling on projects like wheel builds and custom bikes and it looks like facilitating deliveries should be pretty seamless. We’ll also be offering contactless Click-and-Collect for these items and for purchases made via the webstore, which will be operating as usual.

As the Commuter webstore will be the only place of purchase for the next six weeks we’ve uploaded a lot more product. We’ve also dropped the free shipping threshold for Victoria to a hundred dollars. If there’s something you’re after that you can’t see there, please just give us a buzz at the shop and one of our team will assist you.

Unfortunately during this time we will not be offering any workshop servicing or face-to-face customer service of any kind. If your bike is currently at the shop for work, we’ll be in touch very soon. Similarly if you have an existing booking that falls within the lockdown period one of our team will be in touch for a chat. We will have a mechanic available remotely during the week to facilitate online purchases of wheel builds and the like but we will not be able to accept any walk-ins or bookings for mechanical work. That said, IF you are a frontline medical worker or your bike is your only form of transport and you find yourself in a bind, then please call us at the shop.

We’re truly appreciative of everyone’s support, encouragement and kind words over the last few months of weirdness. Look after yourselves and we’ll look forward to having you back in our space some time in the Spring.

  1. Hi there,
I have only just discovered your Instagram… Sorry, I’m a bit late to the party.
Looking forward to connecting when you’re back open to the public.

  2. Hi,

I’ve got a surly disc trucker and am wanting to install a baby bike seat, ideally front or centre mounted. Do you guys have any recommendations?

  3. Hi Stella, we do have a few options, the main being from Topeak. Feel free to give us a buzz at the shop for a chat whenever suits you.
