Question

Hi, I am considering the tubus fly for my 1999 specialized 26″bike. I am wondering what size tyre is too much for this rack. I currently have 2.25″ tyres. Given it is a 26 inch wheel I am hoping it will clear with room to spare. Also do they sit well on a 26 inch bike? I can only find photos of touring bikes. Thanks

Hi Eben, the Fly should work just fine on a 26 inch bike as long as you are running tyres under 2.6inches.

Question

Hi, I’m looking for a minimalist rack for my partner’s 27.5 inch MTB (Merida Big Seven) and like the look of this. However the bike’s lower mount points are about 55mm above the axle so I’m concerned the rack will sit too high, especially as frame size is XS. Can you tell me the height of this rack from the mounting hole to the top? Actually, how is the single front mount attached to the bike? Or can you suggest an alternative rack? Thanks

Hi RM, Here’s a link to Tubus’s technical drawing which should help you figure this one out:
